A valley full of future
The andalusian green
hydrogen valley
Moeve launches Europe's largest green hydrogen project in Andalusia.
A valley to transform the industry, andalusia, and energy.
With the launch of the Andalusian Green Hydrogen Valley, the most ambitious renewable hydrogen project in Spain and Europe, we will prevent the emission of 6 million tons of CO2 per year, which will accelerate the ecological transition and achieve greater energy independence, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals in the United Nations’ 2030 agenda.
Two production centers, but the same commitment.
Through two centers located in Palos de la Frontera (Huelva) and San Roque (Cadiz), Cepsa's commitment is to have a total capacity of 2GW of electrolysis, or in other words, to generate a total of 300,000 tons of green hydrogen in Andalusia.
The Huelva plant, to be located on Moeve land near the La Rábida Energy Park in Palos de la Frontera, will start up in 2026, reaching full capacity in 2028. The Campo de Gibraltar plant will be installed in the San Roque Energy Park and will be operational in 2027.
The project will have a total investment of up to 3 billion euros.
The plants will generate 10,000 jobs, 1,000 of which will be direct, and they will boost the activity of more than 400 SMEs and self-employed workers.
With this Valley, we will prevent the emission of 6 million tons of CO2 per year.
We are at the forefront of renewable energy development
Green hydrogen will drive our shift toward green energy, prioritizing the Sustainable Development Goals and focusing on aspects where Moeve can have the greatest positive impact on society.
Andalusia has excellent weather conditions to be one of the most competitive and efficient regions in the world in the production of green hydrogen.
Greatest capacity for wind and solar photovoltaic generation at the lowest cost in Europe
Palos de la Frontera and San Roque offer an exceptional location due to their ports and climate.
Moeve is already the top company in Andalusia in terms of GDP, generating exports via ports, with a production value of 13.145 billion euros in 2021.
